Domaine du vissoux

Domaine Du Vissoux Moulin A Vent Les Trois Roches 2013

Sub-region: Beaujolais, Burgundy

Retail Price: S$ 56.00

About the Wine: Moulin à Vent is called “King of Beaujolais.” This is the Cru with the longest cellaring potential and which is closest to its Burgundian neighbours. As it ages, it is sometimes said to “pinote”. This cuvée is the expression of the alliance between finesse and power. The aromatic palate is wide, going from very ripe small red berries through spice to mineral notes. The three different plots of vines used for this cuvée produces a wine that is full and balanced.

About the Winery: Domaine du Vissoux is a family-run wine estate. The estate is in the Pierres Dorées golden stone area, in Southern Beaujolais. Combining tradition and modernity, Martine and Pierre-Marie Chermette are fully committed to bringing you really high quality and authentic terroir wines.

Contrary to most of Southern Beaujolais soil which is limestone-clay, the soil at Domaine du Vissoux is granitic. This specificity contributes to giving more structure to the wines made here. These wines are matured in our carefully preserved beautiful oak-tun lined vaulted cellar built by Pierre-Marie Chermette’s great grandfather.

About the Wine: Smoky ruby garnet color, with a smoky black cherry and plum perfume that follows through on the palate, where it takes on some added earth and forest floor. In growing, Domaine Camus develops the use of natural fertilizers and minimizes the herbicides. The harvest is manual, of course, use of enamel tanks and screw presses for breeding in oak barrels which can vary from 18-24 months.
