Its fine and subtle bouquet reveals fruity and delicate notes of rasberries and wild strawberries. On the palate, it is velvety and deliciously fresh, as well as generous and well-structured. The refined fruity aromas are intense and blend harmoniously with citrus notes, smooth spices and an elegant subtle minerality. The final is fresh and smooth.

About the Winery: Catherine and Pierre Breton have been running their 15 hectare vineyard along organic lines since 1991; they’ve been biodynamic since 1997. Located between Tours and Samur in the Loire Valley, they specialize in red wines from the Chinon and Bourgueil appellations. They use indigenous yeasts for their fermentations, and only the minimum use of sulfur dioxide (typically 10 mg/litre of SO2 added at bottling). All wines are unfiltered, and the goal is to make wines that express their terroirs and vintage.

About the Wine: Made from the late-harvested centenarian garnacha grapes, Josefina Piñol is our white sweet wine packaged in exquisitely designed bottles. To obtain a high sugar concentration, the grapes are handpicked just before reaching over maturity at the beginning of November and aged for five months in new French Oak barrels. The wine is the colour of bright amber with aromas of banana, dates, grapefruit, quince, dried apricots, candied orange and linden blossom. With an exceedingly complex taste reminiscent of raisins, marzipan and honey cakes, Josefina Piñol is an ideal partner for all kind of desserts, goose foei gras and blue cheeses.
