tarlant-zeroChampagne Tarlant Zero Brut Tradition NV

Region: France, Champagne

Retail Price: S$ 90.00

About the Wine: Without added sugar, Zero (stands for zero dosage) is a frank fresh champagne that unveils all that the grapes and soil have to say. This Brut Nature is rare and remarkable in the balance of the three varieties benefiting from methods of cultivation which respect nature, and which are specially selected at perfect maturity. On the eye, it is golden with greenish hints and has a fine mousse. On the nose, it is frank, fine and fresh showing scents of wax, honey, lemon and mandarin. In the mouth, it is lively, long, and open with citrus freshness. A natural champagne, sentimental and open, ideal for those romantic moments. It will be particularly appreciated as an aperitif, and with sushi and oysters.

About the Winery: The labels of the wines from this family run estate, one of the most dynamic in Champagne, show their origins – Champagne in its purest form. At the heart of the left bank of the Marne Valley, Benoit Tarlant is gradually taking over from his parents the 14 ha vineyards. He cultivated this vineyard with care, using only organic fertilisers. His vinegrowing is painstaking, perfectly adapted to the mosaic of different soils and subsoils with flint-bearing sand, through clay and limestone to pure chalk.

About the Wine: This wine shows excellent concentration of cool climate characters, clean citrus and wet stone with lovely elderflower floral aromas adding complexity: the palate is dominated by succulent ripe citrus flavours. About the WineryMt Difficulty is a boutique winery located in Bannockburn in Central Otago, New Zealand. The Bannockburn area is internationally recognized as one of the few places in the world where the pernickety Pinot Noir variety has found a home outside Burgundy. Martinborough in New Zealand and Oregon in the US are the only other regions where Pinot Noir seems to flourish.

The unique microclimate of the Bannockburn area provides hot summers, a large diurnal temperature variation and long cool autumns which bring the best out of the Pinot Noir grapes. This, along with a mix of clays and gravels ideal for viticulture, provides an excellent basis not only for Pinot Noir, but also for Pinot Gris, Riesling, and Chardonnay.
