ALSACEGeographically, Alsace is isolated by the Vosges Mountains to the west, and the Rhine river to the east. By law, wines from Alsace must be bottle in the Alsace flute, and the grape variety must be present on the label, unlike the rest of France where the region is the dominate feature. Alsace is a predominately white wine growing region with permitted grape varieties being: Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Blanc, Sylvaner, Tokay-Pinot Gris, Muscat, Chasselas and Pinot Noir.
