BOURBONBurbon is an American whisky made from a minimum of 51% maize (corn) and can be distilled to no more then 160 proof (80% alcohol by volume) or below 80 proof (40% alcohol by volume). While legally it can be produced anywhere in the United States it is most strongly associated with the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
