TEQUILA

Tequila is produced in Mexico in the state of Jalisco. Tequila comes from the blue agave plant and each year more then 300 million plants are harvested. Most tequila is between 70-100 proof and often diluted with water to provide a smother finish.
There are two basic categories of tequila: Mixtos - Can use no less then 51% agave with sugar making up the reminder, most generic and entry level tequila falls into this category. 100% agave - Made 100% from the agave plant flavors tend to be more prominent.
