Alain Graillot has been producing wines reflecting his integrity and high standards since 1985. Born in the Northern Rhone, he left to pursue a career in business, but returned home to his dream of creating great wines. Without the opportunity of stepping into an existing family winery, Alain undertook formal studies in Burgundy while seeking the guidance and inspiration of the best of the new generation of winemakers including Jacques Seysses of Dominique Dujac.
During a 2003 cycling trip in Morocco Alain Graillot met the team of Thalvin at the Domaine. He decided to collaborate with the winery with Syrocco being the result. Domaine des Ouled Thaleb is the oldest operating winery in Morocco. It is located 20 miles northeast of Casablanca on the Northern coast. It’s extra ripe in the nose: plenty of berries, plum, and pleasantly burnt vegetables.
Arachon T.FX.T is an premier joint venture by three acclaimed Austrian wine making friends: Tibor Szemes, F.X Pichler, and Manfrend Tement.

Using there extensive know how, and native grape varieties, these three winemakers have been able to produce a premium red wines that have been noted for their ability to contend at an international level.

Location:
After extensive research and many debates the three friends finally settled on the Vereinte Winzer Blaufrankischland in the small town of Horitschon in Burgenland, (close to the Austrian Hungarian border).
The chosen name Arachon T.FX.T (pronounced Arra-Khon), was named after the old town name for Horischon with the T.FX.T standing for the three partners.

Climate/Soils:
The village of Horitschon in the Mittelburgenland is a classic red wine-growing area. The soil here comprises heavy clay, sand and limestone. Its excellent water storage capacity, combined with the warmth- regulating influence of the nearby Lake Neusiedl, make it ideal for the cultivation of the Blaufränkisch (also known as Limberger) grape variety.
Also enhancing growing conditions are the, Austrian hill chains in the north, south and west and the opening to the Pannonian Plain in the east. Annually, there are at least 300 days with sunshine and approximately 600 mm of rainfall – all of which help guarantee excellent grape and wine quality.

Wines:
ARACHON T.FX.T is a special cuvée that is a blend of 50% Blaufränkisch, 30% Merlot, 10% Zweigelt and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Matured in new French barriques for 20 months. Storage potential: 10-15 years.
Price: S$45.50 Special Price: S$32.00
Special Expires On: Jan 10, 2023

Established in 1995 Caledonia Australis has the vision to produce high quality wines from estate grown Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines around the city of Leongatha in Gippsland, Victoria.

There are three labels: Caledonia Australis (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Rosé); Mount Macleod (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Rosé); and Reserve (Chardonnay and Pinot Noir).

Caledonia Australis has 25 acres of Pinot Noir and 15 acres of Chardonnay ) over two vineyards around Leongatha.

Winemaker, Martin Williams MW, one of Australia’s leading cool climate winemakers has extensive experience in Australia, the USA and Burgundy in France. Martin is well versed in the foibles of cool climate varieties and is able to let the vineyard terroir speak for itself.

The Tilson vineyard of 10 acres (6 acres of Pinot Noir and 4 acres of Chardonnay) fronts the South Gippsland Highway on the boundary of the Leongatha township. The Notman vineyard is located five kilometres to the north of Leongatha. It is planted with 12 acres of Chardonnay (planted in 1997 and 1998) and 18 acres of Pinot Noir (planted in 1995 to 1998).

The Pinot is fermented in open vats prior to aging in French oak of which about 30% is new. The Chardonnay is whole bunch pressed, starts fermentation in stainless steel and then run to barrel to complete fermentation. About 20% of the Chardonnay barrels are allowed to undergo a secondary (malolactic) fermentation. All the Chardonnay barrels are periodically stirred to absorb some flavors from the yeast lees. The barrels for both the Pinot and Chardonnay come from several coopers and the oak comes from several forests in France. Our estate wines spend twelve months in barrel whereas the reserve wines spend about 16 months in barrel.

The Caledonia Australis name dates back to 1839 when one of the first white explorers into Gippsland, Angus McMillan from Scotland, named what we now call Gippsland as ‘Caledonia Australis’. Caledonia is the Roman name for Scotland and Australis means southern. The Caledonia Australis logo, a Scottish thistle entwined with Australian wattle was designed to represent this relationship.

Pale lemon straw in color. The fine citrus and honeydew aromas are supported by subtle vanilla French oak. Hints of yeast lees add understated complexity. With pure ripe citrus and quince/pear fruit flavors, and malolactic creaminess.
Price: S$52.00 Special Price: S$40.00
Special Expires On: Apr 24, 2021

Domaine Marc Kreydenweiss was established in Alsace, in 1650 and has been in the same family for thirteen generations—more than three and a half centuries.

In 1971, at age 23, Marc Kreydenweiss took over the family winery. Among his first innovations were a switch to organic farming and yield reduction through extensive pruning. Most importantly, in 1984, he began focusing on planting specific varietals matched to specificterroirs to capture the truest expression of each grape variety.

Over the years, Marc’s love for the soil grew into a love for the earth, and he began to champion the well-being of the planet and preservation of its natural resources. He found himself drawn to biodynamic viticulture, and the domaine began embracing biodynamic practices in 1989.
By 1990, Marc had converted the estate to 100 percent biodynamic farming, a distinction shared by a small group of wineries worldwide.

With biodynamics, the grapes are organically cultivated, without pesticides or commercial fertilizers, and vineyard work is timed to the cycles of the sun, moon and stars. The vines are pruned very short to control yields and are cleaned of all extra shoots to allow for good aeration and exposure to the sun. Pruning also ensures even spacing of grape bunches on each vine.

Established in 1996 by Wines’ Director, Martyn Nicholls who after leaving a career in merchant banking decided to go into the winemaking business. Gravitas winery is located in the Upper Wairau in the South Islands of New Zealand.

A family owned estate, Gravitas produces a distinctive range of ultra-premium hand crafted wines from low cropped and hand picked Marlborough fruit. Driven by the desire to produce old world style wines vs the commonly focused fruit wines so often found in New Zealand, Gravitas wines tend to be dry, food focused and European in style.

According to Nicolls:

“As part of Gravitas’ ongoing efforts to produce outstanding wines from healthy vineyards we subscribe to a vigorous eco-program called “Sustainable Wine growing New Zealand”
We have approximately 40 hectares (100 acres) of vineyards located in Marlborough, New Zealand’s premier wine growing region. This is also the region with the most sunshine hours per year – an average of about 9 a day!

Within Marlborough our vineyards are spread over an 80km (50 mile) range of terroir and this gives us a rich pallet of grapes to paint with.
Our main vineyard is at the top end of the Wairau Valley - a significantly cooler area than other parts of the valley closer to the sea and with a day/night temperature variation that can be extremely high. The temperature characteristics of this area aligned with very deep, free-draining and stony soils produce wines that show an interesting range of fruit characters (more citrus than other parts of the valley) and a distinctive mineral note.

As for our viticulture practices, wines of great stature can only be made with grapes of supremely high quality, so…

- Virtually all vine work (leaf-plucking etc) is carried out by hand.

- We monitor vineyard conditions by computerized sensors which beam up moisture and temperature data every half hour to a private website, which management can access from anywhere in the world.

- Our computer controlled irrigation system is highly sophisticated and can water 20 different blocks differently, according to the needs of each block.

- We operate a minimal-use chemical regime, are certified under the low chemical Sustainable Wine growing Program and are preparing for conversion to organic grape growing. we protect our grapes with over 20 km of nets to avoid any bird damage.

- We keep yields to very low levels (as low one half those of the great Premiers Crus of Bordeaux).

- We generally harvest by hand – and often go through the same block a half dozen times on different days – just picking the perfect grapes each time

Finally we focus very much on top-end retailers, never supermarkets – or top-end restaurants like Gordon Ramsay who at one point was our biggest customer in the world, and we were his biggest supplier of white wine,"

Price: S$36.50 Special Price: S$29.00
Special Expires On: Jan 10, 2022

Description:
The Jurtschitsch winery is one of Austria ́s most traditional wineries. It is located right in the heart of the wine town of Langenlois.
This family winery is managed by Karl Jurtschitsch and his nephew, Alwin. Their aim is to produce elegant wines reflecting their origin and site terroir in the best possible way - naturally and authentically.

Climate/Soils:
The Kamptal is a cool wine-growing area. Continental climate influences come from the north and the west. The area around the Danube and Kamp rivers enjoys warm days and cold nights and is therefore ideal for yielding wines of intense aromas and character. Another key point is the diversity of the soils. The lower layer comprises gneiss and slate, which lends generous minerality to the wines. Higher up are thick layers of humus and loess, which give the site wines their individual characters. Unique in this region is the Riesling site of Heiligenstein, where the desert sandstone soil bears volcanic influences from the Permian age. Wines from here are particularly elegant and fine with a nervous subtlety and a high maturation potential.

Wines:
Grüner Veltliner and Riesling are the main varieties of the winery. These reflect best the terroirs of the top vineyard sites. Jurtschitsch produces a broad palette of wines between the entry segment, the multi-faceted site wines and the Alte Reben (Old Vines) selections. The focus of the red wines is on elegance, with the varietals – Zweigelt and Pinot Noir - reflecting the cool character of the region.
Price: S$74.00 Special Price: S$63.50
Special Expires On: Oct 12, 2019

The roots of the estate, however, probably go back to the era of the Babenberg dukes. More than 60 hectares of vineyards are planted in the most beautiful part of a broad shelf of calcareous gravel, dragged down by the melt waters from the glaciers of the Eastern Alps. San Lorenzo, which is a cooler area, is where most of the white varieties are grown while Corona and Romans, are warmer zones to the West of the winery, and where the reds are mainly planted.

It is here that, since 1879, four generations of the Lis Neris family have worked passionately to help create and develop one of Friuli’s most representative wine estates. In 1981 turning point materialized at the winery, and a new approach to production occurred. White wines proved to be the best expression of “terroir” and thus became the focal of production at Lis Neris.

Today Les Neris Estate prominent standards apply both to there vineyard and wine practice. There goal is to produce the highest quality of wines while creating the ideal growing conditions.
Price: S$40.00 Special Price: S$32.00
Special Expires On: Mar 25, 2024

A New Venture in the Rhone Valley:

The region of Costières de Nîmes in southern France, with its climate, soil and ancient, rocky vineyards, was the ideal place to satisfy the Kreydenweiss family’s ambition to make red wines and to develop the grape varieties of the Midi. They were particularly interested in one of the region’s oldest varieties, Carignan, but also in Syrah and Grenache.

In 1999, they purchased a 36-acre property in Manduel named Domaine des Perrières. Surrounding the winery, its vineyards are located 31 miles west of Châteauneuf-du- Pape and six miles southeast of Nîmes.
More specifically, the vineyards cover the area between Nîmes and the Petit Rhône, one of the rivers of the delta rim in Camargue, where Languedoc meets the Rhône.

As a result, the wines have preserved the delicacy on which their reputation

Mt Difficulty is a boutique winery located in Bannockburn in Central Otago, New Zealand. The Bannockburn area is internationally recognized as one of the few places in the world where the pernickety Pinot Noir variety has found a home outside Burgundy. Martinborough in New Zealand and Oregon in the US are the only other regions where Pinot Noir seems to flourish.

The unique microclimate of the Bannockburn area provides hot summers, a large diurnal temperature variation and long cool autumns which bring the best out of the Pinot Noir grapes. This, along with a mix of clays and gravels ideal for viticulture, provides an excellent basis not only for Pinot Noir, but also for Pinot Gris, Riesling, and Chardonnay.

Mt Difficulty Wines was named after the mountain over-looking Felton Road and the southern Cromwell basin.
Olivier Pithon borrowed the name of this road between Calce and Le Col de la Dona, it’s a good name for a cuvée. Above all for one which is uniquely based on a selection of the best slopes of White and Grey Grenache. These vines brought such great satisfaction in 2001 that there grew the desire to explore all their richness and their complexity to make a great white wine. To grow and nurture this wine in wooden vats for twelve to sixteen months, appeared to us the minimum we could do to bring out the density of these beautiful grapes.
Price: S$102.00 Special Price: S$89.00
Special Expires On: Jun 30, 2015

In 1984, Baron Philippe, his daughter Philippine and Robert Mondavi selected Scott Johnson of Johnson, Fain & Pereira as design architect for the Opus One winery. In July of 1989, groundbreaking for the new winery took place; and the construction of the facility was completed in 1991. That year Baroness Philippine de Rothschild and the Robert Mondavi family gathered to celebrate their first harvest at Opus One.

A wine of subtlety and grace, Opus One doesn’t rush to reveal itself; and neither does the winery. The building literally rises out of the earth, and through a mix of classical European and contemporary Californian elements, gradually discloses its distinctive beauty.

Defined by colonnades on either side, a central courtyard introduces an architectural motif found throughout the building. The winery, like the wine, joins New World and Old World aesthetics. Modern materials – California redwood and stainless steel – are juxtaposed against cream-colored Texas limestone.

The quiet profile of Opus One blends with the natural surroundings – the vineyards and rolling hills of the Napa Valley. And just as it honors the land, it honors the light.
Price: S$548.00 Special Price: S$504.00
Special Expires On: May 29, 2013

The Morey family origins can be traced back to at least the sixteenth century. The family has been living in Meursault since 1793, and before then, in Chassagne-Montrachet. Each generation has worked the vineyards and made wine from the local grapes.
At a very young age, Pierre’s father, Auguste MOREY, became a share-cropper for Domaine Comte Lafon. The year was 1935, and the totality of vineyards of Comte Lafon, 14 hectares, was divided between nine share-croppers.
At the time, the situation in the wine industry was at its lowest point following the economical crisis of 1929, and vineyard owners had a great deal of trouble making ends meet. The Comte Lafon vines were old, with many parcels needing to be re-planted. They were located, however, in the best areas of Meursault : Perrières, Genevrières, and Charmes.
Price: S$125.00 Special Price: S$98.00
Special Expires On: Jan 10, 2019

The 2008 Quinta do Vale Meao, the winery’s flagship label, is a blend of Touriga Nacional (55%), Touriga Franca (30%), Tinta Roriz (10%) and Tinta Barroca (5%). Ethereal, showing its oak a bit too much in its youth, this seems otherwise and remarkably graceful early on, a wine that has a Burgundian feel in the mid-palate. It has that stereotypical iron-fist-in-velvet-glove demeanor, too, as it packs quite a powerful punch underneath the initially elegant and oaky demeanor. The oak should integrate with time, but make no mistake about it, there is a lot more here than oak and this wine has a lot of upside; as with a lot of 2008s, it just may not all be apparent early on. Drink 2012-2028.
Price: S$216.00 Special Price: S$170.00
Special Expires On: Jan 10, 2020

A mouthwateringly saline savor akin to shrimp shell reduction and deep notes of dark chocolate add allure to the wine’s long finish. There is less sense of density here than in the 2010, and instead almost one of delicacy – which fits Pedreno’s stated ideals. At only 12.5% alcohol, no wonder this evinces a sense of levity! It will not be the sort of wine that comes to anyone’s mind at the mention of “Languedoc red,” but taken on its own terms it’s compelling, and ought to be worth following for another half dozen years.
Price: S$88.00 Special Price: S$68.00
Special Expires On: Jan 10, 2021

Tement’s expansion has not stopped at the Slovenian border, and in 2006 he acquired the neighboring holdings of the Carmelites – where his father long worked as winemaker – and since replanted their 90 year old patchwork of vine varieties to insure more Zieregg Sauvignon for the future. Tement has begun using glass stoppers on his wines in lieu of corks. Tement is modifying his approach with Sauvignon – especially in the top sites – having decided that lower yields and the consequent ability to harvest somewhat earlier are more advantageous (not to mention less risky) than the long hang time he has traditionally practiced with this variety.
Price: S$104.00 Special Price: S$78.00
Special Expires On: Jan 10, 2018

The Tement Estate lies on a narrow plateau, into which the slope of the Zieregg cru gently flattens. Southern Styria is a traditional production area which enjoys excellent growing conditions, especially for white grapes. For this reason, 95% of the vineyard area at the Estate is devoted to white varieties and 5 % to red wine grapes (Blauer Zweigelt).
There are two basic styles of wine at the Estate, of which the majority belongs to the category known as “Steirische Klassik” (“Styrian Classics”). This group also includes new wine, Temento, which has become very popular thanks to its delicately aromatic character: it is a cuvée of Welschriesling and Sauvignon Blanc.
Under the appellation “Steirische Klassik” one finds those wines that are fresh and fruity, with lots of varietal character. They display the typical style of their grape variety (or grape varieties) within the context of the vintage from which they come, they are fairly light in alcohol and, for the most part, they mature in stainless steel tanks. They are the type of wines for which Styria has always been well known, and indeed their style is also in perfect line with current tastes. The “Steirische Klassik” denomination is protected and may only be used by certain wine producers.
Wine are all matured in large wooden casks and some of them - such as the Morillon and (in part) the Sauvignon from the Zieregg vineyard - are even fermented in small oak barrels. The yield varies according to the grape variety and the individual vineyard, but lies between 35 and 55 hecto liters per hectare.
Whether it’s the “Styrian Classic” wines or those from specially selected vineyards, picking is always carried out with great care and attention, and great pains are taken to select only those grapes that are entirely free from gray rot. For each vineyard, between three and five selective harvests is the norm.
Price: S$191.00 Special Price: S$167.00
Special Expires On: Oct 12, 2019
