Quick Overview

BODEGAS RODA SELA; A wine with strength, young, with many things to tell but with the fresh voice of the youth. Very pleasant to drink, easy to blend it with food and especially delicious and fresh. Designed to drink more frequently, in circumstances in which neither RODA and RODA I could reach, even attractive to young people who begin to live the passion for the wine world. Framed in the range of the fresh fruits of Tempranillo of the area of Haro, good bodied, ageing in semi French oak barrels of first quality and with the distinct hallmark of the elegance and finesse of tannins of RODA.

A different wine with the experience of RODA.

Bodegas Roda Sela 2009

In 1987, Mario Rotllant arrived in the Rioja region determined to fulfill his dream of setting up his own winery. Rotllant had experience in the world of wine and knew
some of the most important contacts in the sector. His ambition was clear: to make a unique Rioja, one that was different from all the others. He transmitted his enthusiasm to a team who would become the pillars of the project: Agustín Santolaya, who would take the reins, Isidro Palacios, who would look after the vineyards, and Carlos Diez, who would be responsible for oenology and the winery.

The 2009 Sela is made in an obviously lighter, more forward style than the Reservas. It is a spicy, savory, nicely balanced wine for drinking over the next 5-6 years.

Bodegas Roda is one of the quality leaders in Rioja. They have embarked on a couple of new projects, the first being the production of an entry-level Rioja named Sela. The second new Roda project is the development of two wines from Ribera del Duero made from 100% Tempranillo. Both 2009s were barrel samples but impressive nevertheless.
